Medium level on Ara most of the time also means medium level on the Cinqueta so little time was wasted to fix Sunday's program and indeed, water level on the classical section looked quite honorable. This section is described as one of the most beautiful in the Pyrenees and completely lived up to expectations.

In a first section, the river features some nice bedrock rapids and after portage of a big class VI rapid, offers first moderate and than quite exhilarating rock&hole dodging.

A few crew members ventured higher up in the Cinqueta valley and as expected found too high water levels for the gorges rouges section. The very top section on the other hand could have used some more water but 3 decided to do some low water exploration for next time putting in below a heineous looking 8m drop. Highlight was a clean 4m drop where Jommeke set the standard with a very clean and dry line, nice!

As for me, I selected the small pool to further improve my swimming skills, getting in quite good shape already this early in the vacation?.

Next time at similar water level, it may be better plan to link the classical section with the lower gorge for 4 additional km of grade IV-V.
