Having paddled the short but absolutely beautiful section above the put-in two days earlier with far too much water, I was super exited that the water has dropped over night, making the main section appear somewhat reasonable. Indeed, having walked the two horrendous drops at the bridge put-it (my daughter called it the ?blue waterfall?), the river revealed the same crystal-clear swimming-pool water sensation than the first time. After a few enjoyable boat-scoutable rapids in an open river bed we soon got to a canyon section with three major consecutive slides/drops. The fist ended with a good sized drop/hole, making the lack of real pools between those rapids discomforting. |

While we all styled the fist technical slide/drop, (with some confirmation from Birdy that this hole could indeed be sticky) the surprise came for Peter in the somewhat smaller second slide with an extended front-surf, back-surf & flat-spin exercise in a smallish but extremely sticky ledge hole.

It also revealed my complete unpreparedness for getting him a rope, but I rather decided to slip and slide with my boat on the polished granite. While Peter than opts to simply walk out of this shallow hole, I eventually got him a rope to pendulum to shore. His boat, in the meanwhile, probed some lines in the third and possibly longest slide. No boat destruction helped to ease our minds for running that thing.

It was fast and bouncy, and yes indeed another sticky hole in the bottom, which Bruno successfully wrangled with. This was followed by a couple of more read-and-run bolder rapids to the take-out bridge. Well, and then there was the double-drop below the bridge. Fittingly, the guidebook mentions ?sketchy?, and so was that run.

Deze rivier is een echte aanrader met mooie aaneenschakelingen van drops,slides en watervallen waarbij je tussenin meestal tijd hebt om te recupereren. Wim is die dag als cameraman van dienst. De tocht verloopt voorspoedig tot we bij een kloof aankomen die bestaat uit 2 delen.
Het is 2 keer een slide die met een eind drop maar wel met een groot verval.
Het 2 de deel is de zwaarste passage maar ziet er vanboven bedrieglijk vlak uit . We verliezen behoorlijk wat tijd met de verkenning en beveiliging van deze kloof.
Ik besluit om alleen het eerste deel te varen. Bruno neemt het voortouw door enkel de eerste drop te varen. Ik, birdy en Jörg varen allemaal de slide en de drop ondanks het hoogteverschil bleek deze niet zo moeilijk te zijn.
Dan was mijn plan om tussen de twee delen nog een eenvoudige passage te varen omdat het bij het volgende keerwater gemakkelijker was om uit te stappen... Dan had de rivier een kleine verrassing voor mij in petto. (1) Haast bij toeval ontdekte ik een kleine stopper die een ideale playspot bleek te zijn. Traag laat ik mijn kayak in die stopper glijden waarbij Ik allerlei moves uitprobeer. Je kunt er allerlei aerial moves doen zoals de loop,blunt,donkey flip,... zelfs de helix maar om veiligheidsredenen beperk ik mij voornamelijk tot de paddelsteun en voor- en achteruit varen. Natuurlijk Ik kan het niet laten om de anderen proberen bang te maken.
Helaas bij het uitvaren maak ik een klein foutje waardoor ik op een iets wat ongelukkige plaats uitstap. Om een lang verhaal kort te maken: De conclusie is dat het verlies van mijn werptouw een kleine prijs is voor zo'n foutje.
Op het einde vaart enkel Jörg de passage na de brug.
